Num Yummy!

So, I make my own baby food. It's easy to do and nutritious for the little one. And it doesn't go through all of the flash steaming as commercial baby foods go through therefore more nutrients are left. When you compair commercial vs homemade food colors, the homemade food is so much brighter in color. I can't help but know that it is much more nutritious for him. I also use all organic produce for Butterbean too! Hopefully, this will help encourage Brock and I into eating more organic along with Butterbean. Nathan tried sweet potatoes the other day and loved them. (I got a few oo's and mmm's while spooning the delicious mush in his mouth) I started by baking a sweet potato at 375 degrees for an hour or so. Then I scooped out the inside and placed it into a food processor. Since sweet potatoes don't contain a lot of water, I added some breastmilk (or formula if you choose) to thin out the mush. Then I placed the sweet potato into the appropriate food storage containers. I used these: They are baby food storage cubes. I bought a couple of them and they stack on top of each other in the freezer! They hold about 2 ounces of food per cube. So I just take out what I need and voila, less waste too! Then I try out homemade baby food on baby: Butterbean seems pretty happy with the new flavor. In return, this new found satisfaction puts him into a nice food coma. Next up on the list of homemade food is carrots, avocado, and more butternut squash!

  1. I am thinking about making my own baby food too. It just seems like a great way for them to get some good nutrition. Please let me know what system you use. I would love the advise. Thanks.
